About The Position

We are looking for a Supply Chain Specialist to join our Supply Chain team! Our Supply Chain Specialist will be sourcing and purchasing ingredients for our delicious, plant-powerful products. In this role, you will get a chance to share best practices and implement process improvements! You will have experience in the manufacturing industry and a strong understanding of supply chain management. You will have the opportunity to work with a fantastic team of people who are very collaborative, supportive, and enjoy a fair bit of fun at work.

Requirements

• Experience with lean manufacturing practices.
• Strong negotiation skills with proven track record of cost savings.
• Intermediate Excel skills.
• Strong computer skills (Great Plains, Word, Outlook, etc.).
• Proven experience in a high-stress fast-paced environment, preferably in the food industry.
• 3 -5+ years of sourcing and purchasing experience in a manufacturing facility.
• Ability to influence and manage change in a high paced environment.
• Strong initiative and proven leadership abilities to manage through change confidently.
• Great communicator who can easily get along and work with different personalities.
• Strong organizational and project management skills, excellent attention to detail, and exceptional multitasking skills.
• Professional and solutions oriented.

Nice To Haves

• Experience purchasing packaging and food ingredients.
• Knowledge of international trade and experience working with customs broker.
• Post-secondary education in supply chain management.

Responsibilities

• Champion procurement activities in a busy food production environment.
• Maintain optimal inventory levels, manage material requirements and associated logistics.
• Source food ingredients and packaging ensuring items purchased follow established policies and procedures.
• Troubleshoot with internal and external stakeholders on resolving issues such as pricing, delays, deliveries, quality and inventory.
• Negotiate and track contracts with suppliers providing analytical data and reports to support.
• Ability to travel as needed to visit suppliers and attend industry events
