About The Position

The Item Master Administrator, operating within the Item Master Administration Team (IMAT), is responsible for providing technical and administrative support for the Supply Chain Item Master. This includes creating and maintaining item master data for various components, consumable goods, services, and raw materials. You will ensure data integrity and accuracy within the material master enterprise resource planning (ERP) system using standardized formatting and techniques. This role is critical in maintaining cataloging, item numbering, record maintenance, and vendor information in the database. You will also contribute to the development and maintenance of the Supply Chain Management (SCM) Item Master data program to ensure its sustained integrity. This role requires a high degree of self-motivation, initiative, and the ability to operate effectively with minimal direct supervision.

  • Bachelor's degree: Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Master's degree: Minimum 3 years of relevant experience.
  • PhD OR Applicants without a bachelor's degree may be considered based on a combination of at least 13 years of completed education and/or relevant experience.
  • Requires a Q clearance; however all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Q clearance is required.
  • Position may require entry into Materials Access Areas (MAA) and participation in the Human Reliability Program (HRP).
  • If HRP is required, candidate must complete a counterintelligence-scope polygraph, pursuant to 10 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) 709.

Nice To Haves

  • Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or related field.
  • Knowledge of Item Master Governance
  • Experience with major Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems (e.g., PeopleSoft, SAP, System Analysis Program Development) and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
  • Relevant Materials Management certifications (e.g., American Production & Inventory Control Society (APICS), Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM), Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP))
  • Supply Chain Management experience.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain accurate and standardized item master data for a wide range of materials including parts, consumable goods, services, and raw materials within the SCM ERP system. This involves cataloging, assigning item numbers, and updating vendor information.
  • Contribute to the SCM Item Master data program to ensure ongoing data integrity. This includes understanding the impact of item master fields on various modules and interfacing systems.
  • Maintain electronic records of data requests, including but not limited to creating part classifications, unit of measure links, deletions/additions, item number sequencing, standardized formatting, and update/change requests.
  • Assist with item master projects and the development of an automated electronic upload tool.
  • Support SCM group with analysis and reporting of materials activities within item master database and other projects as needed.
  • Benchmark applicable item master programs to implement best practices.
  • Participate in presentations and meetings to inform customers and stakeholders of the importance of item master data integrity.
