About The Position

The Supply Chain Engineering / Production Planning Co-op will take ownership of planning assigned production lines in a complex manufacturing environment. The role involves making real-time planning decisions and working across the organization to keep production moving while balancing customer demand, material availability, capacity constraints, and changing priorities. The facility manufactures, assembles, and tests valves and actuators for the aerospace and power generation markets. The co-op will use data, ERP/MRP systems, and Excel to support production planning and contribute to improvements in material flow and production efficiency. The position is intended for a student who has completed one to two years of a bachelor’s program in a related technical or analytical field. It requires U.S. citizenship or permanent resident status. The primary work environment is the manufacturing areas, where personal protective equipment may be required in certain areas. Physical demands may include sitting or standing, frequent walking, reaching, moving materials, and lifting up to 10 pounds.

  • U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  • Completion of one to two years of a bachelor’s program at an accredited university in Supply Chain Management, Engineering and Management, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Data Analytics, Information Systems, Operations Management, or a related technical or analytical field.
  • Strong analytical aptitude and interest in complex manufacturing processes, systems, and data.
  • Problem-solving skills, including evaluating multiple variables, identifying root causes, and developing practical solutions.
  • Self-motivation, willingness to learn and take ownership, and ability to achieve results in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to set priorities, manage competing demands, and meet commitments.

  • Exposure to production planning and inventory management.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and schedule production activities for assigned manufacturing lines supporting complex, multi-level aerospace products.
  • Manage the scheduling, creation, and release of manufacturing jobs to support customer demand and production requirements.
  • Analyze material requirements, inventory availability, and production schedules to identify and track shortages.
  • Identify supply chain risks, production constraints, and potential delivery disruptions; assist in developing and coordinating mitigation plans.
  • Collaborate with Purchasing, Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, and Operations to resolve material shortages, scheduling conflicts, and production issues.
  • Monitor work-in-process (WIP), job progress, and material availability to keep production priorities aligned with customer delivery requirements.
  • Use ERP/MRP systems and Excel to evaluate production requirements, investigate issues, and support planning decisions.
  • Analyze bills of material (BOMs), manufacturing routings, and component dependencies to understand production requirements and constraints.
  • Identify opportunities to improve planning processes, material flow, and production efficiency.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and help resolve day-to-day production planning challenges.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
