About The Position

The Supply Chain Engineering / Production Planning Co-op supports production planning in a complex manufacturing environment producing low-volume, high-mix valves and actuators for the aerospace and power generation markets. The co-op will take ownership of planning assigned production lines, making real-time planning decisions, solving problems, and collaborating with teams across the organization to keep production moving. The facility includes research and development, design engineering, assembly and test, and machining operations. The position involves planning and scheduling production, managing manufacturing jobs, evaluating material requirements and inventory, monitoring work in process, and helping identify and mitigate supply chain and production risks. The co-op will use ERP/MRP systems and Excel to investigate issues and support planning decisions, while looking for opportunities to improve material flow, planning processes, and production efficiency.

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  • Completed one to two years of a bachelor's degree program at an accredited university in Supply Chain Management, Engineering and Management, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Data Analytics, Information Systems, Operations Management, or a related technical or analytical field.
  • Strong analytical aptitude and interest in complex manufacturing processes, systems, and data.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills, including evaluating multiple variables, identifying root causes, and developing practical solutions.
  • Self-motivated, with a desire to learn, take ownership of responsibilities, and achieve results in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to set priorities, manage multiple competing demands, and meet commitments.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and interest in data analysis.

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to production planning and inventory management.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and schedule production activities for assigned manufacturing lines supporting complex, multi-level aerospace products.
  • Manage the scheduling, creation, and release of manufacturing jobs to support customer demand and production requirements.
  • Analyze material requirements, inventory availability, and production schedules to identify and track shortages.
  • Identify supply chain risks, production constraints, and potential delivery disruptions; assist in developing and coordinating mitigation plans.
  • Collaborate with Purchasing, Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, and Operations to resolve material shortages, scheduling conflicts, and production issues.
  • Monitor work-in-process (WIP), job progress, and material availability to align production priorities with customer delivery requirements.
  • Use ERP/MRP systems and Excel to evaluate production requirements, investigate issues, and support planning decisions.
  • Analyze bills of material (BOMs), manufacturing routings, and component dependencies to understand production requirements and constraints.
  • Identify opportunities to improve planning processes, material flow, and production efficiency.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and help resolve day-to-day production planning challenges.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
