About The Position

UI Health Care department of Material Services is seeking a full-time Supply Chain Coordinator on 1st shift. This position will be scheduled Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM. The position supports the Linen Department within Material Services. The major function of the position is to provide functional and administrative supervision of 1st and 2nd shift Linens. Coordinate the delivery of clean linen, soiled linen collection, and ensure all areas are stocked appropriately.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
  • 3-5 years of experience within supply management receiving, warehousing, and/or distribution setting.
  • One year of experience applying procedures, methods, and techniques commonly used to receive, store, and distribute products through experience operating manual and electric powered mobile handling equipment.
  • One year of experience developing and using tools, techniques, and practices for updating and maintaining inventory and distribution functions within PeopleSoft or other automated inventory system.
  • At least one year of supervisory experience
  • Experience with establishing, building, and sustaining effective and cooperative relationships with superiors, subordinates, or peers within your own work unit or organization or with any other persons perceived to have a stake in enabling, enhancing, or receiving services or products furnished by your work unit or organization.
  • Ability to form and manage effective teams.
  • Knowledge of and ability to plan, mobilize and distribute resources to fulfill business objectives and plans.

Nice To Haves

  • Two years of experience updating PeopleSoft receiving and inventory transaction screens.
  • Experience running and utilizing PeopleSoft queries.
  • Experience and basic proficiency utilizing Microsoft Excel spreadsheets to maintain or analyze data.
  • One year experience working within a hospital or multi clinical healthcare setting.
  • Knowledge of HIPPA patient privacy guidelines and Joint Commission and Hospital Safety & Security recommendations pertaining to infection control practices and the safe storage and transport of hospital medical supplies.

Responsibilities

  • Physically receive, store, and distribute linens.
  • Operate hand controlled material handling equipment normally associated with unloading and loading trucks in a shipping and receiving dock setting as well as using push carts to move supplies throughout the building as required.
  • Update inventory and receipt transactions within PeopleSoft.
  • Replenish the linen cabinets and update inventory balances as required, troubleshoot as necessary.
  • Respond to questions and concerns of clinic customers, assess issues and solve problems in a timely professional manner.
  • Interact with UI Laundry to determine product selection. Resolve customer concerns. Communicate consistently with customers, staff and Material Services leadership.
  • Will be responsible for training new staff members and ensuring staff are following all applicable policies and procedures.
  • Provide direction, assignments, feedback, coaching and counseling to assure outcomes are achieved.
  • Oversee inventory controls; determine reorder amounts. Mange merchandise assortment and new production information. Analyze usage trends and make recommendations. Partners with UI Laundry to receive adequate amounts of linens.
  • Determine staffing needs for the unit, work with staff to accommodate vacations/leaves without paying premium wages to cover the work that needs to be completed.
  • Manage budget when identifying inventory discrepancies, locate missing product and accurately make adjustment in electronic inventory system to appropriately charge out for products.
  • Review usage reports, track product stock outs and make par level recommendations accordingly.
