About The Position

In this role, you support the integrity, reliability, and continuous improvement of the supply base by defining and executing supplier quality assurance programs that ensure products and systems conform to applicable codes, regulations, and company requirements. Working closely with suppliers and cross-functional teams, you contribute to consistent product quality, reduced variation, and improved supplier performance across sustainability, delivery, and service dimensions. You are engaged across the full supplier lifecycle—from quality surveillance at manufacturing sites to issue resolution and preventive action—while ensuring alignment with global quality procedures and local practices. Your work helps strengthen supplier capabilities, support project execution, and protect customer commitments through structured quality processes. This role offers exposure to complex supplier environments, cross-disciplinary collaboration, and continuous improvement initiatives that directly impact operational performance and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in Canada.
  • Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in engineering, manufacturing, or quality assurance environments.
  • At least 2 years of experience working in quality engineering and supplier development to improve customer satisfaction.
  • Experience applying data-driven quality methodologies such as SPC, Six Sigma, process capability, or process performance analysis
  • Experience with APQP with an emphasis on Control Plans, PFMEA’s, and PPAP’s.
  • Experience implementing process improvement or continuous improvement practices using tools such as Kaizen, 8D, 5-Why, or similar RCA methods.
  • Bilingual (French and English)

Responsibilities

  • Define and develop quality assurance programs to ensure compliance with applicable codes, regulations, and quality requirements.
  • Conduct supplier audits, inspections, and quality surveillance at manufacturing sites to validate system and product conformance.
  • Support and develop suppliers to achieve conformity with company requirements and drive continual quality improvement.
  • Lead supplier quality issue resolution, including investigation, corrective and preventive actions, and supplier claims preparation.
  • Establish and maintain local supplier quality procedures and practices aligned with global standards.
  • Collaborate with category teams, buyers, Q&OPEX, Sustainability/HSE, R&D/Engineering, and project tender teams.
  • Represent the “Voice of Supplier” to internal stakeholders across Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing.
  • Coordinate quality initiatives at customer sites, perform internal audits, and support customer quality assurance activities.
  • Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
