About The Position

This role involves performing aeroelastic and aeroservoelastic simulations to support new aircraft design studies and ensure the continued airworthiness of in-service aircraft. The engineer will utilize their judgment to select appropriate methods, techniques, and tools for complex problem-solving, and will be responsible for preparing and maintaining finite element models for analysis. This position also includes maintaining, developing, and documenting internal methods and software, collaborating with other engineering disciplines, and supporting ground vibration testing (GVT) and flight flutter testing (FFT). The engineer will document their analyses and findings in technical certification reports and presentations, primarily in English.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering with an aerospace specialization.
  • Relevant experience in the aerospace industry.
  • Experience in aeroelastic and aeroservoelastic analyses.
  • Strong understanding of aircraft structures, aerodynamics, control surface actuation, and control laws.
  • Experience with finite element models and analysis.
  • Experience with dynamic system stability and frequency response analysis.
  • Experience in programming in MATLAB, Python, Fortran, or C/C++.
  • Eligibility to obtain Canadian Controlled Goods (CGD) clearance.
  • Knowledge of airworthiness regulations.
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to plan work activities and deliver within budget and schedule, and capacity to work under pressure.
  • Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and excellent written and verbal communication skills in both French and English.

Nice To Haves

  • A higher degree is an asset.
  • Knowledge of Nastran is an asset.
