About The Position

GrizzlyTrek is seeking one Supplier Quality and Development Engineer to join our value-added client's team in Montreal, Quebec. This is a full-time contract role supporting the Aeroderivative Gas Turbine (AGT) Core Engine business, with strong potential to convert to a permanent position. In this role you will work alongside a global, multi-cultural supplier quality team to address non-conformances, drive continuous improvement, and uphold our value-added client's quality standards. You will engage directly with suppliers, lead structured problem-solving efforts, and help shape supplier performance across the Core Engine commodity portfolio.

Requirements

  • Solid background in Engineering, R&D, or manufacturing (degree-qualified or time-served).
  • Demonstrated experience as a self-starter handling supplier quality issues from beginning to end.
  • Knowledge of inspection methodologies and capability assessment.
  • Knowledge of drawing interpretation, including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Proficiency in quality methods: 5 Whys, FMEA, 8D, and Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
  • Familiarity with Quality Management Systems such as ISO 9001, Supplier Quality Management (SQM), and quality control routines.
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills across all levels of the business.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple problem investigations simultaneously.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 20% as part of the role.

  • Experience in gas turbine blade or vane machining, casting, or surface coating technology.
  • Experience working in a global, multi-cultural environment with strong cultural awareness.
  • Strong IT skills, including Excel and data manipulation.
  • Demonstrated initiative and diplomacy when navigating complex supplier situations.

Responsibilities

  • Engage with suppliers to resolve process-related issues, including non-conformance management and containment.
  • Oversee supplier quality performance, including corrective and preventive actions.
  • Initiate quality improvement programs, initiatives, and risk mitigation measures.
  • Continuously monitor and report supplier quality performance, contributing to KPIs and communicating risks.
  • Support Product and Process Qualifications (PPQ) and ensure suppliers adhere to the client's Quality Management Processes and tools.
  • Lead structured problem-solving activities using 8D, RCA, 5 Whys, and FMEA methodologies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to uphold quality standards and foster strong supplier relationships.
