The Supplier Quality Development Engineer (SQD) for Propulsion Systems at Stellantis is responsible for leading and managing suppliers through advanced quality planning and process development. The goal is to ensure high operational efficiency, robust industrialization, and capable manufacturing processes that meet Stellantis' quality and capacity requirements. This role involves close collaboration with internal and external Engineering, Manufacturing, and Purchasing teams to select, validate, and refine designs, suppliers, and manufacturing processes from early development through launch and into production. As a key driver of supplier performance, the Propulsion SQD leads root cause analysis, structured problem-solving, drives process improvements, and ensures the deployment of best practices and lessons learned across programs. The SQD acts as the technical expert for manufacturing processes and technologies related to propulsion system components, including Electric Drive Modules (EDM), Battery Packs and Modules, Power Electronics, Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) components, Transmissions and eAxles, and Thermal management systems. The SQD partners with suppliers to evaluate and develop their manufacturing processes, establish robust quality systems, and ensure consistent delivery of high-quality components to Stellantis assembly plants, which includes regular onsite supplier visits, audits, technical feedback, and ensuring effective corrective and preventive actions.
