Supervisor - Wellness Together
About The Position
The Supervisor for Wellness Together works with the Program Director to ensure high-quality services and contract compliance for a program supporting homebound older adults. Wellness Together uses comprehensive case management, virtual group activities, and volunteer services to help older adults live to their fullest potential. The program is part of University Settlement’s LEARN network for older adults. The Supervisor provides oversight and supervision to casework staff and assigned MSW students, supports service planning and documentation, and maintains clinical practice knowledge relevant to geriatric social work. The role may carry a reduced caseload to provide coverage and supports outreach, intake, assessment, and the development of additional program services. The position is full-time, Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., for 35 hours per week, at 189 Allen Street in New York, NY.
Requirements
- LMSW required.
- One to three years of experience in the field of aging required.
- Demonstrated ability to work with and engage hard-to-reach populations.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
- Good interpersonal and computer skills.
- Ability to be a proactive, creative problem solver.
- Proven track record of working autonomously and in a fast-paced environment.
Nice To Haves
- SIFI Certificate preferred, or eligibility to earn it upon obtaining an LMSW.
- At least one year of supervisory and/or management experience preferred.
- Bilingual skills in English/Spanish, English/Cantonese, or English/Mandarin are a plus; language requirements may change based on program needs.
Responsibilities
- Work with the Program Director to ensure high-quality services and contract compliance.
- Provide individual and group supervision to casework staff and MSW students as assigned by the Director.
- Oversee development and provision of service plans and treatment plans, staff and client interactions, and regular casework documentation by direct reports to ensure services for homebound older adults are high-quality, impactful, effective, and timely.
- Maintain working knowledge of geriatric social work practice standards and theory and incorporate them into clinical practice.
- Carry a reduced caseload as needed to provide coverage.
- Maintain working knowledge of resources for older adults.
- Support intensive outreach.
- Support client intake and assessment as needed.
- Support development and implementation of supplemental services offered by the program and external providers.
- Collaborate with external partners and leaders in the field of aging to enhance program offerings.
- Perform other related duties within the scope of the position as assigned by the Supervisor.
