The Warehouse Supervisor is a critical role in our operations in Sycamore, IL. Incumbents in this role are responsible for all aspects of the shipping, receiving, storage and staging of all raw materials and finished goods. This role is responsible for managing hourly reports in the safe and efficient operations to achieve outlined performance metrics in the areas of Safety, Quality, Efficiencies, and Employee Development. The supervisor will continuously improve plant safety culture and performance by ensuring corporate/plant safety policies and procedures are followed, positively communicating and remediating safety issues in a timely manner with stakeholder feedback. They will model and instill T&L values within their team, be recognized and respected as an expert within the Shipping & Receiving and Warehousing team, and exert strong, independent leadership, anticipating and resolving priority conflicts. The supervisor will be willing to assist and share expertise, work with integrity, and uphold the values of the organization. They will perform all job functions/activities with a strong safety mindset and compliance of all outlined safety policies, ensuring employees comprehend and adhere to all applicable Safety / Food Safety policies and procedures. The role involves working with Operators and Site Management to communicate identification of observations, near misses or incidents and properly document them, including leading accident investigations. The supervisor will demonstrate knowledge and proficiency in the warehouse area, lead team members in daily task completion for the department, lead shift changeovers and provide direction for all team members, and lead/assist in SOP development within the department. They will coordinate the training and development of the team, including individual’s advancement through the Tiered Progression System, approve/deny requests for vacation, and manage the team schedule to ensure continual coverage of sanitation operations. The supervisor will administer plant and company policies as necessary, including decisions around promotion, discipline, and hiring, and ensure employees are completing necessary trainings. They will coordinate with management/purchasing on the needs of the department to facilitate the daily tasks requiring completion, ensure the timely execution of documentation and conversations around performance management of direct reports, and be prepared and understand emergency procedures, showing leadership and direction in times of emergency. The role also involves working with the Maintenance Manager to help resolve technical problems and improve operational performance, assisting in internal and external audits, and reviewing new hire applications, interviewing, and selecting new team members within the sanitation team.
