About The Position

This role involves overseeing table games operations, including tracking patron play, managing table inventories, issuing and inspecting cards and dice, and supervising dealers. The position also assists with personnel functions such as interviewing, hiring, training, and performance evaluations. Additionally, the supervisor will help manage staff schedules, inventory, payroll preparation, and ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations. A key aspect of the role is investigating and resolving patron complaints and involving the department in casino promotional programs. The supervisor may also be responsible for the gaming facility in the absence of higher management.

Requirements

  • Must be 21 years or older.
  • High school diploma or equivalent education.
  • Two (2) years of Table Game experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience in card room operations (e.g., Dealer, Floor Supervisor, Pit Supervisor, Shift Manager Trainee/Shift Manager).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain the appropriate license through the New York State Gaming Commission.
  • Knowledge of all table games.
  • Knowledge of NY gaming commissions rules and regulations.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents like policy and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries from team members or guests.
  • Fluency in English required.
  • Ability to write detailed instructions and correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
  • Ability to compute basic mathematical calculations.
  • Ability to decipher various reports and maintain reports upon request.
  • Ability to remain organized in a pressure situation.
  • Ability to input and access information into a computer.
  • Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relations with staff.
  • Problem-solving, administrative, multi-tasking, organization, and prioritization skills.
  • Strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Tracks and documents patron play, including wager amounts, length of play, purchase amounts, and wins/losses.
  • Maintains proper table inventories through fills and credits.
  • Issues playing cards and dice and reviews them for irregularities at the beginning of the shift.
  • Assists with personnel functions: interviewing, hiring, orientation, training, development, supervision, delegation, evaluations, and disciplinary actions.
  • Supervises, coaches, instructs, and directs dealers in proper table games operations procedures, including error correction and monitoring work processes.
  • Assists with staff schedules for assigned shifts, including scheduling employee training.
  • Assists with managing inventory issues, including ordering supplies, inventory control, and equipment maintenance.
  • Assists with preparing daily payroll for accounting and other reports as needed.
  • Ensures effective recruitment, hiring, training, recognition, coaching, and counseling within the department.
  • Assists in completing performance reviews of all employees within the department annually.
  • Investigates and resolves patron complaints regarding customer service issues.
  • Involves the department with casino promotional programs.
  • Ensures employee compliance with all departmental, company, gaming, state, and federal laws, policies, procedures, and safety codes.
  • Maintains confidentiality of company, employee, and patron information.
  • May be designated responsible for the gaming facility in the absence of the Table Games Manager and Table Games Shift Manager.
  • Performs other tasks as assigned.
