Supervisor, Shipping

FM Industries•Fremont, CA

About The Position

The Supervisor, Shipping supervises the daily activities of the shipping and receiving team, including shipping, receiving, and wash team employees. The role verifies and maintains records for incoming and outgoing finished goods; oversees customer shipments and deliveries; and ensures finished goods are packaged and shipped in accordance with customer specifications and acceptable shipping practices. The supervisor visually inspects completed assemblies before and after packaging, confirms required labels, certifications, and other documentation are complete, coordinates outbound freight, prepares waybills and bills of lading, and schedules and follows up with freight carriers. The role also inspects incoming goods, enters required data into the ERP system, and inspects forklifts and delivery trucks daily, arranging maintenance as needed. When nonconforming material is identified, the supervisor halts processing or shipping, labels and isolates the material to prevent accidental use, and—with approval from Management, Quality, or Engineering—initiates corrective or preventive action. The role follows precautions to ensure safety and compliance with company, OSHA, and other applicable standards and regulations.
