About The Position

MBI, Inc., a leading direct marketing company, is seeking a proactive and hands-on individual for a challenging supervisory position in its Torrington location. This role involves overseeing 6 to 12 employees and fulfillment operations, focusing on the shipping documents preparation area. The ideal candidate will be motivated, energetic, and committed to high standards of excellence, with a proven track record in a high-volume, results-oriented, and detail-driven environment.

Requirements

  • Minimum of two years of supervisory experience in a high volume, results-oriented, and detail-based environment.
  • Proven track record leading and motivating a successful team.
  • Experience supervising a team of 6-12 or more.
  • High school diploma/GED preferred.
  • Minimum two years of relevant experience supervising in a warehouse/fulfillment setting.
  • Experience in labor/capacity planning based on work volume/backlogs.
  • Comfortable using computer systems including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Experience with company systems like customer order management or other non-Microsoft software/applications.

Nice To Haves

  • Spanish language skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the shipping production prep area, including batching/kitting documents, matching product to customer invoices, proofing customer invoices, and looking up customer accounts.
  • Lead and motivate a successful team.
  • Foster a cooperative, respectful, and supportive work environment.
  • Proactively navigate peaks, valleys, and changes in workflow.
  • Monitor and develop individual contributors to achieve results, including providing feedback and conducting performance reviews.
  • Collaborate with the department manager to establish daily labor plans based on work backlogs.
  • Delegate tasks strategically to optimize workflow, monitor daily workloads, and ensure the team works efficiently according to standard operating procedures.
  • Spend 70-80% of time on the floor working with the team, ensuring workflow, and creatively solving issues.
  • Maintain a safe, neat, and organized work area.
