About The Position

The Safety Supervisor works directly with Operations, Quality, Human Resources, and other facility teams to provide technical expertise, leadership, and support for the site’s safety culture. The position administers and maintains facility safety programs, evaluates workplace hazards, collaborates with facility management on safety and operational solutions, and supports training and regulatory compliance. This position has supervisory responsibility.

Requirements

• High school diploma.
• At least 4 years of experience in health and safety, or a bachelor’s degree in a safety-related field of study.
• Excellent written and verbal interpersonal and communication skills.
• Basic knowledge of OSHA standards, including regulatory requirements and hazard identification.
• Proficiency with computers, especially Microsoft applications such as Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Nice To Haves

• Professional certification.
• One year of safety experience in food manufacturing.
• Bilingual ability.

Responsibilities

• Administer, support, and maintain facility safety programs and policies.
• Continuously evaluate facility safety, including machine guarding, ergonomics, slip-trip-fall hazards, and electrical safety.
• Collaborate with facility management on solutions for operational and safety concerns.
• Educate team members on the principles of George’s safety culture.
• Conduct incident analyses, including root cause analysis and fishbone diagrams.
• Administer industrial hygiene testing.
• Support and coordinate safety training for facility teams.
• Complete paperwork required for regulatory or program requirements.
• Partner with management, supervisors, and team members to ensure a safe and supportive work environment.
• Perform supervisory responsibilities.
