The Safety Supervisor manages all employees in the Safety department and indirectly supervises all employees regarding safety practices. The role oversees the Safety and Health function for the Hudson Operation, ensuring compliance with the company’s Safety Policy and applicable OSHA, state, local, and industry-specific regulations. The supervisor promotes workplace safety, conducts and reviews audits, supports incident investigations, and adapts safety practices to the needs of the manufacturing environment. The position directs safety orientation and job-specific training, skills training, emergency plans, and weekly safety meetings. It collects and analyzes safety data, reports concerns, reviews audit results, and develops procedures and guidance to improve workplace safety and prevent accidents. The role also coordinates with department managers, provides guidance on hazardous-material disposal and PPE, and manages staff performance and internal issues. This is a safety-sensitive position in moderate indoor office, moderate outdoor/shop, and noisy/loud shop environments. Shop work requires safety glasses, steel-toe shoes, ear plugs, and, when needed, gloves and a face shield; a hard hat is also required. The role regularly involves talking or hearing and frequently involves standing, walking, using hands, and reaching with hands and arms. Because the work involves heavy machinery, power tools, and potentially hazardous conditions, the employee must maintain heightened awareness and follow safety protocols to protect themselves and others. Chart offers full-time employees medical, dental, and vision benefits, a 401(k) with employer match, and disability and life insurance benefits.
