Coury Hospitality has an amazing opportunity as a Temporary Supervisor. Center Stage During Comic-Con Comic-Con transforms downtown San Diego into the center of the entertainment universe—and MaryJane's Diner is right in the middle of the action. From early-morning breakfasts to late-night dining, our restaurant serves thousands of guests looking for unforgettable food, exceptional service, and legendary Hard Rock hospitality. As our Temporary Supervisor, you'll help lead the front-of-house team through one of the busiest weeks of the year. You'll set the pace, support the team, solve problems on the fly, and ensure every guest leaves with an experience worthy of an encore.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of restaurant leadership or supervisory experience in a high-volume or upscale dining environment.
  • Lead with confidence, positivity, and a hands-on approach.
  • Thrive under pressure and know how to keep a team motivated during busy service.
  • Outstanding communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Passionate about hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences.
  • Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and the entire Comic-Con event period.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and support Servers, Hosts, Server Assistants, and Bartenders throughout every shift.
  • Oversee daily floor operations to ensure smooth, efficient, and memorable guest experiences.
  • Jump in wherever needed to support service, resolve challenges, and keep operations running seamlessly.
  • Monitor service standards, cleanliness, and presentation throughout the restaurant.
  • Handle guest concerns with professionalism, urgency, and a hospitality-first mindset.
  • Partner closely with culinary and bar teams to maintain exceptional communication and service flow.
  • Assist with shift organization, team communication, and operational priorities during peak business periods.
  • Promote food safety, sanitation, and company standards while creating a positive, high-energy work environment.
