About The Position
This position coordinates and supervises the clinical activities of the cardiopulmonary staff, ensuring the appropriate quality of care is administered as designated by physician orders or protocol. The role includes conducting orientation for new employees, coordinating continual education of staff, and maintaining/evaluating supplies and equipment. The Supervisor also ensures that JCAHO standards and organizational clinical policies are followed, assists in the development and implementation of departmental goals, and provides direct patient care as needed.
Requirements
- Graduate of an AMA-approved school of Respiratory Care required.
- Credentialed as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care required.
- Currently licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner for the state of applicable state required.
- Associates degree in Respiratory Therapy with a minimum of two years in a Respiratory Care Department or a RRT equivalent with a minimum of five years in a Respiratory Care Department required.
- Working knowledge of all phases of Respiratory Care technology pertinent to this position.
- Basic Life Support for healthcare providers thru the American Heart Association required.
- Advanced certificates per facility policy
