About The Position

Coordinates and supervises recreation center programs providing a safe environment to all. Ensures that rules, regulations, and responsibilities are adhered to daily. The intent of this job description is to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by employees in this job. Requirements

  • Knowledge of modern office procedures and methods including computers and applicable software.

  • Ability to maintain good health and physical condition sufficient to permit the full performance of the duties of this position.
  • Associate's degree from an accredited college or university
  • At least two (2) years of experience in recreational sports and facility management
  • Valid Texas Driver License. If applicant holds an out-of-state license, a State of Texas Driver License must be obtained within 6 months of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Valid First Aid Certificate must be obtained within six (6) months of employment
  • Valid CPR Certificate must be obtained within six (6) months of employment
  • Valid AED Certificate must be obtained within six (6) months of employment

Responsibilities

  • Supervises, directs, and evaluates assigned staff.
  • Monitors basketball gym, boxing gym, and weight room activities; enforces gym rules and regulations.
  • Ensures proper working order and cleanliness of equipment; performs maintenance as needed.
  • Collects and issues receipts for payments, maintains cash receipt reports, and ensures accurate accountability.
  • Identifies programming needs and seeks instructors to provide classes.
  • Performs related administrative work as required.
  • Will be required to drive a City vehicle for City business use.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
