About The Position

This position is ONLY OPEN TO CURRENT FULL-TIME ANNUALLY PAID PARKS EMPLOYEES. Under general direction of the Deputy Director of Payroll & Timekeeping, with wide latitude to exercise decision making and independent judgment, perform and oversee difficult work responsibilities for the Payroll unit. This role involves directly supervising, training, and assisting Timekeepers, as well as managing, troubleshooting, and training agency staff on the Citytime system. The position requires reviewing various reports, coordinating with District Supervisors and Chiefs to ensure timely timesheet submission, and assigning, reviewing, approving, and auditing work done by Timekeepers. Additionally, the role involves reviewing and approving leave types in Citytime and serving as a liaison with the HR division, Labor Relations, FISA, and the Office of Payroll Administration (OPA) on all payroll and Citytime issues.

Requirements

  • Current full-time annually paid Parks employee.
  • Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; OR High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; OR Education and/or experience which is equivalent to the above. However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described above.

Responsibilities

  • Under general direction of the Deputy Director of Payroll & Timekeeping, with wide latitude to exercise decision making and independent judgment, perform and oversee difficult work responsibilities for the Payroll unit.

  • Review various reports including the 920,161 and 700 report for accuracy.
  • Coordinate and work with District Supervisors and Chiefs to have them submit timesheets on time in Citytime.
  • Assign, review, approve and audit work done by Timekeepers.
  • Review and approve leave types in Citytime.
  • Liaison with HR division, Labor Relations, FISA and the Office of Payroll Administration (OPA) on all payroll and Citytime issues.
