Position Details As a Supervisor of Nutrition and Food Services, you will assist the director with daily activities and operations within the Nutrition and Food Services Department. Through your work, you will build relationships with your team along with our patients and residents.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in quantity food preparation and principles of recipe usage
  • Knowledge of food service functions and sanitation principles, and be familiar with food preparation methods.
  • Must be efficient in Microsoft Word and Excel and general computer skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively as a team; uphold strong leadership and management skills; strong communication skills to lead the department as well as facilitate and fosters positive working relationships; and demonstrates abilities in critical thinking, conflict management, motivation and personnel development
  • Obtain/maintain the Minnesota Certified Food Protection Manager certification and ServSafe Food Manager certification.
  • Stand or walk for the majority of the shift and lift up to 20 pounds.
  • Communicate effectively in English, verbally and in writing.
  • Pass a background study through the Minnesota Department of Human Services.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the interviewing, hiring and training of new employees and support the growth and development opportunities of current employees
  • Assist with management of employees within the department
  • Assist with creating and maintaining menus to be in accordance with healthy lifestyle recommendations and meets the various needs of residents and catered meal participants
  • Assist with the adherence to the annual budget and financial goals including the purchasing and distributing of food and supplies
  • Assist the Lead Food Service Worker in secretarial duties as assigned
  • Perform sanitation reviews to assure compliance with sanitary and safety standards; and follow all regulatory food safety guidelines and ensures compliance by employees
  • Understand workflow of all positions to fill in vacancies
  • Participate in quality assurance process improvement (QAPI) initiatives within the department and organization
