Supervisor of Family Intensive Treatment Team

Directions for Living•Largo, FL
•Onsite

About The Position

This professional, field-based position provides clinical supervisory oversight for the Family Intensive Treatment (FITT) program within the Families First Division. FITT is an intensive, evidence-based wrap-around program for parents with at least one child under 10 who are involved with child welfare because of substance misuse. The team includes counselors, Behavioral Health Case Managers, and Peer Recovery Specialists, and services are delivered in the community. The supervisor supports, coaches, and guides counselors and Behavioral Health Case Managers serving parents with substance use, mental health, or co-occurring concerns. The role ensures services are individualized and recovery-focused, supporting clients in managing their recovery and advocacy. It serves as a subject matter expert on interventions that build recovery, natural supports, coping and self-management skills, personal safety, self-worth, confidence, growth, community connection, boundaries, planning, self-advocacy, personal fulfillment, social supports, effective communication, and rehabilitative skills. The supervisor ensures staff collaborate with other providers, including psychiatry, SOAR, and Homeless Services. When clinically appropriate, the supervisor provides education about and helps coordinate access to these services. If recommended services are declined or clients are not yet willing to engage, this must be documented in service notes; the supervisor reviews and monitors that documentation. The supervisor is responsible for ensuring a combined annual total of 8,084 client-facing care hours for the team, including minimum annual hours of 1,316 per counselor/therapist (four staff) and 1,410 per Intensive Case Manager (two staff). Meeting minimum weekly, monthly, and annual client-facing care hours is an essential function. As an essential-services provider, Directions for Living requires employees to be willing and able to provide vital support during emergencies, pandemics, or other disasters.
