About The Position

The Supervisor represents Corning Hospital and Nursing Administration in their absence. This role involves assuming a collaborative role in staffing and scheduling of personnel, considering appropriate utilization of personnel, scope of practice, competencies, patient needs and complexity of care. The Supervisor supports a professional practice environment that fosters excellence in nursing practice, empowering nurse decision-making, accountability, and autonomy. They respond to emergency codes and crisis intervention, address Employee Health incidents, and demonstrate knowledge of NYSDOH Codes and reporting requirements. The role also includes communicating with patients, families, and healthcare providers, promoting service recovery, maintaining confidentiality, and serving as a professional liaison with the community. Additionally, the Supervisor functions as a mentor for nursing staff development, participates in professional continuing education, and engages in nursing committees, performance improvement activities, and initiatives.

Requirements

  • License to practice in the State of New York
  • 5 years of clinical experience in acute care setting
  • 1 year of experience in Critical Care
  • Demonstrated abilities in leadership and clinical roles
