About The Position

Cornerstone Specialty Hospitals Round Rock is a long-term acute care hospital specializing in care for patients recovering from intensive care and medically complex conditions. It provides LTACH, inpatient rehabilitation, and outpatient wound care, including intensive care and telemetry services. Its acute rehabilitation unit serves patients progressing to intensive therapy, and its outpatient wound care service includes treatment rooms and a hyperbaric oxygen suite.

The Nursing Supervisor supervises nursing staff, assesses patient needs, and provides nursing care. The role plans and organizes training for unit staff and participates in guidance and educational programs. The position is per diem and scheduled for days.

Requirements

• Degree from an accredited school of nursing.
• Valid state Registered Nurse license.
• Valid BLS certification.
• Two years of nursing experience in a hospital.
• One to two years of supervisory or leadership experience.
• Supervisory skills and ability to evaluate job performance.
• Ability to make decisions and accept responsibility for the work unit.
• Time management skills and ability to organize priorities.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient and employee information.
• Good and regular attendance.
• Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English.

Responsibilities

• Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate designated nursing staff; assign duties and coordinate nursing services.
• Participate in developing nursing protocols and procedures.
• Provide continuing education and staff development opportunities for nursing staff.
• Assess patient needs, participate in providing nursing care, and ensure services are carried out and documented appropriately.
• Maintain patient health care records.
• Maintain supply inventory records and order supplies and equipment as necessary.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
