About The Position

Supervises and coordinates laboratory activities, directing the technical work of the assigned laboratory and its personnel. The role manages laboratory services and helps maintain an efficient laboratory environment. It also contributes to laboratory quality, procedure development, inventory and equipment maintenance, and coordination with faculty, research staff, and technicians.

Requirements

• Knowledge of basic laboratory techniques.
• Experience documenting and following procedures and protocols.
• Knowledge of laboratory procedures, instruments in use, and quality control measures.
• Experience operating and maintaining laboratory equipment and conducting regular assessments to record equipment performance.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with established time constraints.
• Ability to maintain strict protocols for confidential or sensitive information.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Bachelor's degree in a related scientific field.

Responsibilities

• Manage laboratory services and maintain an efficient laboratory environment.
• Supervise laboratory personnel and onboard and train new technicians and graduate students working in the assigned laboratory.
• Research and develop procedures to support laboratory quality control and operational efficiency.
• Manage laboratory supplies inventory and maintenance.
• Contribute to departmental policies and procedures, assist in developing technical procedures, and ensure services follow accepted standards and practices.
• Research scientific literature for new or improved research protocols and work with faculty, research staff, and technicians on scientific, research, and administrative matters.
• Assist the department director with budget preparation and personnel evaluations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
