About The Position

The Laboratory Supervisor supervises and assists employees in Chemistry, Hematology, or Microbiology. The role accurately performs and evaluates technical procedures, applies accepted quality-control techniques using automated, semi-automated, or manual methods, and performs diagnostic procedures. The supervisor manages departmental resources, develops and implements procedures, and serves as Lab Director in the director’s absence.

Requirements

• ASCP or other national certification required; new graduates have 90 days to become certified.
• Four-year or bachelor's degree.
• Five years of clinical laboratory experience.
• Knowledge of specialty equipment and tools, including blood-drawing equipment and analyzers.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and assist employees in Chemistry, Hematology, or Microbiology.
• Perform and evaluate technical procedures accurately.
• Use accepted quality-control techniques with automated, semi-automated, and/or manual methodologies.
• Perform diagnostic procedures.
• Manage department resources.
• Develop and implement new procedures.
• Function as the Lab Director in their absence.
