About The Position

This role is a People Leader position within the IT department, responsible for overseeing a team of 2-5 direct reports. The Supervisor IT will partner with Regional and Global Leadership to align the IT strategy with business objectives, manage IT requirements and gaps, and oversee project approvals and funding. This role serves as the primary IT contact for Regional Operations Directors, ensuring IT status reporting, demand management, project tracking, and issue escalation. The position is also responsible for driving cost optimization, defining IT strategies for new facilities and program launches, and managing IT Capital Appropriation Requests (CARs). Additionally, the role involves developing and implementing IT support strategies, leading and mentoring plant IT staff, ensuring adherence to standard technologies and processes, and managing IT budgets. The role requires understanding and applying company policies related to Quality Systems, EHS, Product Safety, Compliance, and Information Security. The employee must be able to work additional hours as needed, multitask, interact professionally, and maintain regular attendance.

Requirements

  • 5-9 Minimum Years of Experience with one or more of the following: IT, Extensive implementation experience in IT Project Management, Manufacturing and Supply Chain Management, including; ERP, Resource Scheduling, Preventative Maintenance Management, Warehouse Management, Quality Management, and MES.
  • 1-3 Minimum Years of Experience within the automotive industry
  • Must be able and willing to travel and work at customer sites, including industrial manufacturing plants which might require climbing, lifting, or working in confined spaces.
  • Proven project management experience in the implementation of complex, integrated, global business applications in a discrete/repetitive manufacturing environment.
  • Experience delivering projects in a manufacturing environment and comfortable in an international setting.
  • Demonstrated experience in budgetary management.
  • Experience with IT lifestyle methodologies.
  • English (Fluency with Reading, Writing, Speaking)

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Regional and Global Leadership teams to ensure the IT Strategy supports and is in alignment with the regional/global operational business strategy.
  • Consolidate, analyze, prioritize (based on business returns), understand and document Regional and Plant IT requirements and gaps in pursuit of solutions.
  • Consult with Leadership team to review project plans and to obtain project approval & funding.
  • Serve as the single point of contact with Regional Operations Directors and their team for IT status reporting, demand management, project tracking and issues escalation.
  • Leverage IT economies of scale across the region; deliver IT best practices and aggressively drive cost optimization efforts.
  • Define and be responsible for the IT timing, requirements, and costs related to new start-up facilities and program launches.
  • Create IT Capital Appropriation Requests (CAR's) and obtain subsequent approvals for funding, and position resources to rationalize resources and capital.
  • Participate with regional and global IT leadership in developing, communicating and implementing strategies for IT support services at the regional operations and plant levels.
  • Leverage regional and plant IT resources to accommodate special projects and support services throughout the entire operational region.
  • Provide leadership and direction to plant management regarding plant IT staff in defining IT position responsibilities, recruitment, staff development, career planning, compensation definition, training, and performance appraisals.
  • Lead and mentor Plant IT Staff to successful support of plant operations measured by timeliness, budget performance, quality, and customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure and document adherence to standard technologies, policies, security, and Business Operating System (BOS) processes throughout the Business Unit.
