About The Position

The IT Supervisor is responsible for the daily operations, planning, development, implementation, and support of the Casino's Information Systems data center and communications systems. This role ensures the efficient maintenance and performance of systems, including the security logs, backups and restores, equipment maintenance, and operating safety of the data center. The IT Supervisor also prepares and maintains detailed maintenance schedules for all hardware and software applications and coordinates equipment installation and maintenance activities with operations to avoid disruption and ensure efficiency.

Requirements

Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
Ability to respond and communicate common inquiries or complaints from customers, employees, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.
Ability to effectively present information to the IT Director and Chief Executive Officer.
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical solutions.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Ability and willingness to learn.
Ability to function as a team member.
AA in Computer Science or AA in Computer Networking
Three or more years’ experience in computer operations OR certification from technical school OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience with Windows Server 2008, 2012, 2016 or newer, Activity Directory, DNS, DHCP, VoIP phone systems, POS solutions, Player Tracking Systems, Basic understanding of Routing and Switching, and a firm understanding in Basic Hardware and Ethernet Standards, required.
Class III Gaming License issued from the Squaxin Island Gaming Commission
Requires a Valid Washington State Driver License and must be insurable on the Tribe’s insurance
Must be at least 21 years of age
Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel.
Frequently required to stand, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear.
Occasionally required to walk; sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

Ensuring efficient maintenance and performance of systems.
Ensuring the effectiveness of the data center, including security logs, verification of proper backups and restores, equipment maintenance, and operating safety.
Preparing, altering, and maintaining detailed maintenance schedules for all Hardware and Software applications.
Coordinating equipment installation and maintenance activities with operations to avoid disruption in IT communications and systems to ensure efficiency of operations.
Assisting the IT manager with personnel tasks including supervision, hiring, terminations, disciplinary action, exceptional performance notifications, and evaluations.
Assisting in the preparation and installation of software and peripheral devices.
Applying and adhering to all administrative and organization internal controls to ensure continuous compliance within the enterprise.
Using judgment and making decisions when faced with equipment failure, error conditions, and/or software problems.
Contacting vendors to arrange for bids, quotes, lease, or purchase of equipment.
Maintaining confidentiality.
Operating within the parameters of the Little Creek Human Resource Policies, Departmental Policies, and all other applicable regulations.
Ensuring compliance with regulations of the Tribal Gaming Commission.
Directly supervising employees in communications in the absence of management.
Carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws, including interviewing, hiring, training employees, planning, assigning and directing work, appraising performance, addressing complaints, and resolving problems.
