About The Position

This position directs and assists employees in the installation, maintenance, and repair of electronic instruments, electrical equipment, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC's), Human Machine Interface's (HMI's), and pneumatic equipment. The role involves supervising, training, and assisting employees and contractors in these activities for pipeline and plant operations, and compressor stations. Responsibilities include PLC and HMI programming, troubleshooting, installation, repair, calibration, and maintenance. The role also assists with preventative maintenance and analytical testing on compressors/engines, drivers, and auxiliary equipment, identifying and ordering necessary parts. Communication and coordination with management, other departments, vendors, and suppliers regarding projects and operations are key. The position requires compiling and verifying information for status/activity reports, budget information, training completion reports, and AFEs. Department of Transportation (DOT) covered functions may be included, requiring alertness and immediate response to dangerous conditions where impaired performance could lead to serious injury or property damage.

Requirements

  • Experience with instrumentation, electronics, electrical equipment and control systems.
  • Experience in use and function of reciprocating or gas turbine engines, compressors, and electronic and processing equipment applicable to position, including accessing computers and related software.
  • Experience and training related to: PLC Software/Hardware, HMI Software/Hardware, Gas processing fundamentals, Governmental regulations and electric codes, Company/governmental operating and safety procedures, Emergency response procedures.
  • Communications skills/customer relations.
  • Experience interacting, advising, and communicating effectively.
  • Experience training, directing, and/or supervising; working knowledge of personnel policies and procedures.
  • Experience researching, compiling, and/or preparing job orders, reports, budgets, and correspondence.
  • Experience reading and interpreting manuals, reports, governmental regulations, job orders, contracts, drawings, electric codes, policies, procedures, and correspondence.
  • Experience developing information and making presentations to individuals or groups.
  • Ability to apply math and algebraic formulas.
  • Ability to communicate and/or exchange information or instructions including use of two way radios.

Responsibilities

  • Provide information and assistance to management, employees, gas control, vendors, equipment suppliers, and others relative to company activities, policies, and procedures.
  • Coordinate and/or communicate with other departments and management related to projects and operations.
  • Compile, prepare, and/or verify information including status/activity reports, budget information, training completion reports, and AFEs.
  • Perform Department of Transportation (DOT) covered functions, including operations, maintenance, or emergency response on a pipeline.
  • Be alert and respond immediately to dangerous or hazardous conditions, and where impaired performance, or failure to follow safety precautions, could result in serious injury or property damage.
