About The Position

Weyerhaeuser's Timberstrand® manufacturing Plant in Kenora, Ontario, is seeking a permanent Electrical and Instrumentation Supervisor. This role is responsible for planning and leading the daily activities of a team of Electricians, Process Control Technicians, and contractors. The focus is on safety, quality, and maintenance of all equipment and buildings to meet departmental and plant objectives. This is a salaried, exempt position reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent. The supervisor will ensure associate and contractor safety, lead and develop the Electrical team, participate in planning and scheduling of Electrical work to minimize production impact, use troubleshooting methods to ensure uptime and quality, utilize training resources to maximize team technical skills, and use computer-based programs for maintenance requests, inventory management, and resource assignment. The role also involves proactively resolving associate and contractor issues, building teamwork, and ensuring adherence to site policies.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a supervisory role in an industrial environment
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal and electronic communication skills
  • Trades certification or Post-secondary diploma in technology or engineering required
  • A combination of suitable education and experience will also be considered.
  • Proven analytical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Solid computer skills in Microsoft Office including Microsoft Project.
  • Demonstrated ability to raise performance by building and maintaining positive relationships with all associates through coaching and development

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a leadership role and using CMMS (SAP) is preferred.
  • Experience with process control (PLC) is an advantage

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring the safety of all associates and contractors by identifying safety issues and taking measures to proactively address concerns.
  • Leading and developing the Electrical team to ensure effective communication across & between shifts and with the production teams.
  • Participation in the planning and scheduling of Electrical work to minimize the impact on production.
  • Efficiently using reliable troubleshooting methods to ensure uptime, production volume and quality goals are achieved.
  • Effectively use training resources to maximize team technical skills.
  • Using computer-based programs to support effective prioritization of maintenance requests, manage maintenance inventory, and assign maintenance resources.
  • Leads by proactively resolving associate and contractor issues, building team work, and ensuring adherence to all applicable site policies and procedures in a fair and consistent manner.
