About The Position

The Supervisor - Instrumentation/Electric directs and assists employees in installing, maintaining, and repairing electronic instruments, electrical equipment, Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC's), Human Machine Interface's (HMI's), and pneumatic equipment. This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth operation of pipeline and plant operations, as well as compressor stations. The position involves supervising, training, and assisting employees and contractors, providing technical expertise, and coordinating with various departments. Responsibilities may include Department of Transportation (DOT) covered functions, requiring alertness to dangerous conditions and adherence to safety precautions to prevent injury or property damage.

Requirements

  • Experience with instrumentation, electronics, electrical equipment and control systems.
  • Experience in use and function of reciprocating or gas turbine engines, compressors, and electronic and processing equipment applicable to position, including accessing computers and related software.
  • Experience and training related to PLC Software/Hardware.
  • Experience and training related to HMI Software/Hardware.
  • Experience and training related to Gas processing fundamentals.
  • Experience and training related to Governmental regulations and electric codes.
  • Experience and training related to Company/governmental operating and safety procedures.
  • Experience and training related to Emergency response procedures.
  • Communications skills/customer relations experience.
  • Experience interacting, advising, and communicating effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, train, and assist employees and contractors in performing activities related to electronic instruments, electrical equipment, Programmable Logic Controllers, Human Machine Interface’s and pneumatic equipment utilized in pipeline and plant operations and compressor stations.
  • Perform PLC and HMI Programming, troubleshooting, installation, repair, calibration, and maintenance.
  • Assist with performing preventative maintenance and/or analytical testing on compressors/engines, drivers, and auxiliary equipment; identify and order needed parts.
  • Provide information and assistance to management, employees, gas control, vendors, equipment suppliers, and others relative to company activities, policies, and procedures.
  • Coordinate and/or communicate with other departments and management related to projects and operations.
  • Compile, prepare, and/or verify information including status/activity reports, budget information, training completion reports, and AFEs.
  • Perform Department of Transportation (DOT) covered functions, including operations, maintenance, or emergency response on a pipeline.
  • Be alert and respond immediately to dangerous or hazardous conditions, and where impaired performance, or failure to follow safety precautions, could result in serious injury or property damage.
