About The Position

This position is responsible for maintaining the grounds of industrial, commercial, or public properties, including buildings, camp and picnic grounds, parks, playgrounds, greenhouses, and athletic fields. The role involves repairing structures and equipment, performing landscaping tasks, and ensuring safety through snow and ice control. The Supervisor Grounds will also assist with various maintenance and repair tasks, follow safety regulations, and demonstrate strong interpersonal and customer-focused skills.

Requirements

  • Ability to maintain grounds of industrial, commercial or public property.
  • Ability to repair structures and equipment.
  • Proficiency in tasks such as cutting grass, trimming hedges, maintaining flowerbeds, and using landscaping tools.
  • Ability to perform snow and/or ice control.
  • Ability to plant grass, flowers, and shrubs.
  • Ability to water lawns and shrubs.
  • Ability to pick up and dispose of litter.
  • Ability to repair and paint fences, gates, benches, tables, guardrails, and outbuildings.
  • Ability to remove unwanted trees and place mulch on plants.
  • Ability to assist in fertilizing or applying herbicides.
  • Ability to assist in the repair of roads, walks, buildings, and mechanical equipment.
  • Ability to clean comfort stations, offices, workshop areas, and parking lots.
  • Knowledge of OSHA and company safety rules and regulations.
  • Compliance with company safety and risk management policies and procedures, including wearing required personal safety equipment.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills for teamwork and customer service.
  • Knowledge of Quality Assurance/Control principles.
  • Adherence to Operations Security (OPSEC) standard operations procedures.
  • Adherence to the Property Control Plan for management of Government Furnished Property (GFP).
  • Adherence to safety and health program complying with EM 385-1-1 and applicable regulations.
  • Ability to maintain a site-specific Accident Prevention Plan (APP).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with riding mowers (less than 2000 lbs.).
  • Experience with hedge trimmers, clippers, and edging tools.
  • Experience with ground spreaders or sprayers for fertilization/herbicides.
  • Experience sweeping, washing, mopping, and polishing comfort stations, offices, workshop areas, and parking lots.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain grounds of industrial, commercial or public property such as buildings, camp and picnic grounds, parks, playgrounds, greenhouses and athletic fields.
  • Repair structures and equipment, performing tasks such as cutting grass, trimming hedges, maintaining flowerbeds, and using landscaping tools.
  • Perform snow and/or ice control on walk areas around Government furnished buildings, sidewalks, steps, and walkways between buildings and parking areas to ensure safety.
  • Plant grass, flowers, and shrubs; water lawns and shrubs; pick up and dispose of litter; and repair and paint fences, gates, benches, tables, guardrails, and outbuildings.
  • Remove unwanted trees and place mulch on plants.
  • Assist in fertilizing or applying herbicides to lawns, shrubs, and trees.
  • Assist in the repair of roads, walks, buildings, and mechanical equipment.
  • Clean comfort stations, offices, workshop areas, and parking lots by sweeping, washing, mopping, and polishing.
  • Follow OSHA and company safety rules and regulations.
  • Comply with all company safety and risk management policies and procedures, including wearing required personal safety equipment.
  • Demonstrate interpersonal skills to work well within a team environment with a customer-focused approach and aptitude for continuous improvement serving internal and external customers.
  • Knowledge of Quality Assurance/Control principles.
  • Adhere to Operations Security (OPSEC) standard operations procedures.
  • Adhere to the Property Control Plan for management of Government Furnished Property (GFP).
  • Adhere to the safety and health program that complies with EM 385-1-1 and applicable OSHA, DOD, Armed Forces Branch(s), Federal, state, and local safety, environmental and health requirements.
  • Maintain a site-specific Accident Prevention Plan (APP) in accordance with Appendix A, EM 385-1-1.
  • Perform other tasks as directed by the Project Manager/Supervisor.
