About The Position

This position is responsible for maintaining the grounds of industrial, commercial, or public properties. The role involves a variety of tasks related to landscaping, equipment operation, and basic repairs. The company, TRDI, operates under the AbilityOne Program and hires individuals with and without disabilities, with a focus on those transitioning out of the Armed Services. Requirements

Must have grounds maintenance knowledge to include the use of equipment such as weed eaters, lawn mower, hedge trimmers, chainsaws etc.
Must be able to run a weed eater on a slope for multiple hours at a time.
Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds periodically.
Must be able to kneel in flower beds for bed maintenance.
Must have transportation.
Must have tree trimming experience.
Must be able to work a flexible work schedule.
Must obtain and maintain a security clearance.
Must be able to tolerate prolonged standing, sitting, walking and/or lifting.

Nice To Haves

Drivers License is a plus.

Responsibilities

Maintains grounds of industrial, commercial or public property such as buildings, camp and picnic grounds, parks, playgrounds and athletic fields.
Repairs structures and equipment, performing one or more of the following tasks: cut grass, using walking-type or riding mowers (less than 2000 lbs.), trim hedges and edges around walks, flowerbeds and wells.
Uses hedge trimmers, clippers and edging tools, prunes shrubs and trees to shape and improve growth, using shears and other hand tools, sprays lawn, shrubs and trees with fertilizer or insecticide.
Planting grass, flowers, trees and shrubs.
Watering lawn and shrubs during dry periods, using hose or activating sprinkler system.
Picks up and burns/carts away leaves, paper or other litter.
Trims and or removes Trees using chainsaws, pole saws, pruning poles etc. Some trimming will require a bucket truck.
Assists in repair of roads, walks, buildings, and mechanical equipment.
May clean comfort stations, offices workshop areas and parking lots by sweeping, washing, mopping and polishing.
Other tasks as directed by the Project Manager/Supervisor.
