About The Position

The Gas and Chemical Logistics Supervisor is responsible for the program management of contracted operations and maintenance service providers at the Fremont, California site. This role ensures effective oversight of service provider performance, including on-site leadership responsible for routine operations, maintenance execution, and personnel management. The supervisor plays a key role in maintaining safe, reliable, and efficient facility and laboratory support operations.

Requirements

  • AA degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • Six (6) years of industrial experience, including contractor management and coordination, preferably within the semiconductor industry.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in operations or facilities management.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting semiconductor sub-fab/direct support equipment and facilities infrastructure systems.
  • Experience with Industrial water systems (e.g., wastewater treatment, waste collection, ultra-pure water systems, wet scrubbers), and/or Industrial gas systems (e.g., natural gas, specialty process gases, bulk gas distribution systems).

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and management oversight for the Gas and Chemical Logistics and Inventory Management team, ensuring proper staffing, performance, and operational continuity.
  • Own and manage the annual operating budget, including blanket purchase orders and invoice approvals to support: Service provider labor, Bulk gases and chemical supplies, Spare parts and consumables, Gas and chemical disposal, Emergency repairs. Quarterly spending forecasts and financial planning.
  • Monitor and report on gas and chemical usage, spending, market trends, supplier lead times, and overall inventory performance.
  • Ensure uninterrupted availability of gases and chemicals by maintaining strong supplier relationships and stable supply chains.
  • Leads sourcing and contracting for chemical materials and services by developing competitive bid processes, evaluating technical and commercial proposals, and ensuring all selections align with business requirements, safety standards, and operational needs.
  • Identify and qualify alternate suppliers to mitigate risk and support business continuity.
  • Develop and execute contingency plans to ensure continuity of operations for critical gas and chemical supplies.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance on-site team efficiency, safety, and performance.
  • Drive vendor performance improvements through structured evaluation, accountability, and collaboration.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for internal laboratory customers, addressing inquiries, supporting non-standard requests, and managing escalations.
