About The Position

The Blue Flame Kitchen (BFK) is one of Alberta’s most iconic brands, with over 95 years of history inspiring home chefs and bringing people together. From classes and camps to events, catering, and community experiences, everything we do is rooted in connection, hospitality, and heart. Reporting to the Blue Flame Kitchen Executive Chef, this position is the execution leader for all BFK events and catering operations. This role ensures seamless coordination, staffing, and delivery of events and experiences while leading the coordinator team and acting as the operational bridge between culinary, sales and events. This position is accountable for end‑to‑end operational excellence, people leadership, and execution quality across all events, catering, internal programs, and seasonal initiatives. The Supervisor ensures that plans translate into flawless delivery while maintaining safety, service standards, and team performance. The successful candidate may be required to work a variety of shifts including weekdays, evenings, weekends and holidays, so a flexible schedule is required.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of progressive food, beverage, or hospitality experience
  • At least 5 years in a supervisory or leadership role
  • Strong event, catering, or operations experience
  • Sound financial awareness and comfort reviewing reports and variances
  • Experience with scheduling, staffing, and performance management
  • Knowledge of food, beverage, and wine service (WSET an asset)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (CRM/POS experience an asset)
  • A genuine commitment to service excellence and integrity
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop Events & Sales Advisors, Coordinators, and Event Operations team members
  • Oversee scheduling, workload balancing, performance management, and day to day team support
  • Support training, onboarding, and ongoing development of the Events and Operations team
  • Own event operations from planning through execution and post event follow up
  • Oversee external catering execution in partnership with program owners
  • Ensure day of execution readiness across all events and catering support touchpoints
  • Act as the primary operational liaison between Culinary, Sales, Front of House, and Events teams
  • Oversee event staffing plans and schedules for internal staff and coordinators
  • Oversee liquor inventory and beverage management with coordinator support
  • Own facilities readiness for ATCO Commons and all Event spaces
  • Coordinate internal catering strikes and Founders catering support
  • Oversee training for Event Servers and support staff
  • Lead Kids’ Camps operational management, including: Scheduling and staffing, Supporting parent communications, On site issue escalation and resolution, Program supplies and room coordination
  • Support external catering inquiries and bookings
  • Support post event follow up
