About The Position

As a Supervisor, Distribution Center, you will support retail operations by managing the day-to-day execution of merchandise processing through the Fulfillment Network. You will manage the workflow of several departments in conjunction with individual department supervisors, develop and maintain accuracy standards to ensure unit inventory integrity, and align with business partners to resolve issues and ensure efficient service. You will also ensure dynamic staffing to meet company goals and effectively manage staff to meet productivity and cost goals. Monitoring safety and accident incident reports to reduce lost time and ensure performance best practices, evaluating and tracking level of service and accuracy standards, and leading direct reports to achieve unit goals are key aspects of this role. Increasing associate engagement by developing and communicating a clear vision, maintaining open communication, setting clear objectives, and removing barriers are also crucial. You will develop an effective staff through coaching and performance feedback, and follow all company, state, local and OSHA safety rules, policies and regulations to promote a safe work environment, promptly reporting any potential violations to the appropriate supervisor/manager. Compliance with all company policies, procedures, standards and guidelines, including those related to accuracy and productivity, maintaining regular and acceptable attendance, and complying with dress code requirements are expected. A flexible work schedule and adherence to the requirement of working any designated shift and overtime as requested per business and operational needs are also necessary.

Requirements

  • Prior experience managing teams in a distribution warehouse environment
  • Working knowledge of automated distribution and warehouse systems
  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills
  • Working knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems
  • Flexibility in hours to support multi-shift operations
  • Effective collaboration and teamwork skills
  • Adept multi-tasking abilities
  • Ability to satisfactorily complete company training programs and cross-train in at least 2 departments
  • Basic math and reading skills, legible handwriting, and basic computer operation.
  • Ability to operate and communicate on multiple frequency devices, handheld scanners, and other technology equipment as directed.
  • Ability to maintain prompt and regular attendance and meet scheduling requirements as set by the company.
  • Ability to learn and comply with all company policies, procedures, standards and guidelines.

Nice To Haves

  • 1-2 years of experience with Operations and Operational Support Systems (WMS, WCS, LMS)
  • 1-2 years automated MHE and SQL experience

  • Ability to work under general supervision and use knowledge and experience to provide quality support to the user community
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. frequently and occasionally over 50 lbs. with a two person lift.

  • Ability to stand/walk for the duration of a scheduled shift (at least 9 hours).
  • Ability to visually verify information and locate and inspect merchandise.
  • Ability to comply with health and safety standards.
