Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in business, management, or a related field.
  • Five (5) years of progressively responsible supervisory or staff-support experience.
  • Recent experience must reflect staff support or supervision, directly or through lead workers, of staff performing a wide variety of clerical, analytical, and technical support duties.
  • Supervisory experience must include most, or all, of the following: special projects, developing and updating policies and procedures, hiring or recommending hiring, training, assigning and reviewing work, evaluating performance, responding to staff concerns, and handling disciplinary actions.
  • Experience supervising staff, with demonstrated success in training, motivating, assigning and evaluating work, handling discipline, and coaching.
  • Experience recognizing, addressing, and managing conflict in a business or professional setting.
  • Experience evaluating statutory, rule, or system changes to ensure rules, processes, or procedures are compliant and meet all necessary requirements.
  • Experience and proficiency using databases, electronic file management programs, and Microsoft programs (Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams) with a high level of accuracy.
  • Experience working with and protecting confidential information.

Nice To Haves

  • Qualifying OJD experience would be at the equivalent of Court Operations Associate or above.
  • Experience working in a court system or other legal environment and familiarity with court operations are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Hire, train, coach, mentor, motivate, and provide feedback to new and existing employees in our Court Operations unit.
  • Plan, assign, supervise, and review the work of your staff as well as facilitate team meetings.
  • Approve timesheets and leave requests, conduct performance reviews, adjust workloads and assignments, resolve issues related to personnel and workflow, award performance, and provide discipline.
  • Create and update position descriptions, screen job applications, conduct job interviews, check references, and make job offers.
  • Develop and maintain reference manuals and guides.
  • Analyze current court policies and procedures, research statutory and procedural changes, and develop and implement new court policies, procedures, and forms.
  • Provide recommendations to the Trial Court Administrator (TCA) about the budget, staffing, policies, and procedures.
  • Represent our court and TCA while serving as an expert on a variety of committees.
  • Foster strong working relationships with judges, upper-level management, court staff, attorneys, self-represented litigants, governmental agencies, community partners, and the public while improving court efficiency and resolving the most complicated questions, complaints, and requests for information.
  • Analyze statistical reports, reviewing the accuracy and timeliness of data entry, and providing backup coverage for the TCA as needed.
  • Assigned tasks may be changed to accommodate workload and organizational needs.
