About The Position

Kern Medical has been a community cornerstone since its founding in 1867. Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Business Administration or a related field and four years of progressively responsible analytical or financial experience; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to obtain the knowledge and skill to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises professional and support staff to include: prioritizing and assigning work; conducting performance evaluations; ensuring staff are trained; and making hiring, termination and disciplinary recommendations.
  • Supervises staff and coordinates in preparing grant proposals and requests for proposals to include researching, compiling, composing and formatting responses and applications. Administers grant funding programs.
  • Supervises staff in analyzing a variety of information such as legislation, proposals, budgets, expenditures, documents, etc. Conducts analysis on the most complex or highly sensitive projects.
  • Supervises staff in conducting studies to include determining scope, planning, organizing, compiling, analyzing, and making recommendations.
  • Provides technical assistance and guidance in area of expertise; serves as a subject matter expert.
  • Serves as a liaison to other units of government, departments, agencies, customers, etc. Reviews and recommends allocation of positions, funding appropriations and program functions.
  • Participates in and/or chairs committees, meetings and task forces.
  • Supervises staff in negotiating agreements and contracts; negotiates highly sensitive agreements and contracts.
  • Develops, administers, coordinates and evaluates programs/projects.
  • Develops, recommends and coordinates policy making between departments, the public and the private sector.
  • Prepares and gives presentations on studies and projects.
  • Performs other duties of similar nature or level as required.
