About The Position

The Superintendent manages bridge construction activities, including scheduling bridge foremen and subcontractors, and ensuring work complies with contract specifications, drawings, applicable safety and environmental regulations, schedule, and budget. The role reviews project performance and recommends corrective actions to the project manager, implements company policies and procedures, assists estimators and engineers with quantities and production, and supports on-the-job training.

The position is performed at active construction jobsites and involves outdoor work in varying weather conditions. It requires regular physical activity and the ability to work extended hours, including occasional weekends, as project requirements dictate.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5–7 years of bridge experience in heavy/highway/bridge construction.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, including strong verbal and written communication.
• Knowledge of FDOT contracts, specifications, and reports.
• Ability to think independently and solve problems effectively.
• Ability to interpret crane load charts.
• Ability to erect/set grade for bridge deck screed.
• Knowledge of proper crane hand signals and rigging techniques.
• OSHA Competent Person certification.
• Excellent driving record.

Responsibilities

• Manage and schedule bridge foremen and subcontractors.
• Assist estimators and engineers with quantities and productions.
• Manage project construction activities in accordance with contract specifications and drawings and in compliance with applicable safety and environmental regulations.
• Execute construction activities in compliance with the applicable schedule and budget.
• Review project performance on an ongoing basis and recommend corrective actions to the project manager as required.
• Implement company policies and procedures as required.
• Assist with on-the-job training.
