About The Position

An established Orange County general building contractor is hiring a field Superintendent to lead a ground-up custom home project in Newport Beach, from site work through closeout. The role involves day-to-day field leadership, schedule management, quality oversight, coordination with project stakeholders, permitting and inspections, and site safety.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience as a superintendent on custom or luxury single-family homes.
• Ground-up construction experience; remodel-only experience is not sufficient.
• Comfort working directly with owners, architects, and designers.
• Experience with scheduling and project management software.
• U.S. work authorization.
• A reasonable commute to Newport Beach.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day field work from foundations and framing through MEP, building envelope, high-end finishes, punch list, and closeout.
• Manage the master schedule and three-week look-ahead, coordinating subcontractors and suppliers so work is properly sequenced and on site as needed.
• Ensure custom finishes meet architect and designer standards.
• Coordinate with the Project Manager, architect, designer, engineers, and homeowner, including site meetings, RFIs, and field changes.
• Manage city permits and inspections, coastal and tight-lot logistics, and neighbor relations.
• Maintain site safety to Cal/OSHA standards and complete daily reports and photo documentation.
