About The Position

The Lansing School District is seeking teachers for its Summer School program in 2026. The district serves over 10,000 PreK-12 students in Lansing, MI, offering a variety of educational options. This role is for teachers who are dedicated to providing an excellent education in a safe and nurturing environment. The summer school program has two sessions: the first half runs from June 15th to July 2nd, and the second half runs from July 13th to August 6th. Teachers will work 6.5 hours of instructional time per day, Monday through Thursday, for a total of 8 weeks. The daily schedule is from 8 am to 2 pm.

Requirements

  • Teaching experience (implied by the role of 'Teacher').
  • Availability for the first half of summer school (6/15-7/2).
  • Availability for the second half of summer school (7/13-8/6).
  • Ability to work Monday through Thursday.
  • Ability to work 8 hours per day.
  • Ability to work 8 weeks.
  • Internal applicants in the aligned bargaining unit will receive preference.
