About The Position

The Lansing School District is seeking a Lead Teacher for its Summer School program in 2026. This role is part of a variety of positions available for the summer school session. The Lansing School District serves over 10,000 PreK-12 students across 25 school buildings in Lansing, MI, and is committed to providing an excellent education in a safe and nurturing environment. Internal applicants in the aligned bargaining unit will receive preference. Specific details on schedule and programming can be obtained from the hiring manager/building administrator.

Requirements

  • Must be an internal applicant in the aligned bargaining unit to receive preference.
  • Must complete the attached online application.
  • Must be able to work the specified schedule: Monday through Thursday, 8:30 am to 1:30 pm, for the periods of 6/15-6/26 and 7/6-7/16.
  • Must be dedicated to educational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a Lead Teacher for Summer School from 6/15-6/26 & 7/6-7/16.
  • Provide 5 hours of instructional time per day.
  • Engage in planning for data review for 4 weeks plus 48 hours.
