About The Position

ACOM offers a Medical Student Summer Research Program. We are looking for motivated and detail-oriented Student Summer Research Assistants to support ongoing research projects across various fields. This is a great opportunity for students to gain hands-on research experience, develop analytical skills, and contribute to meaningful studies under faculty mentorship. As a Summer Research Student, you'll assist faculty and researchers by collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data, conducting literature reviews, and supporting research projects, all while gaining valuable experience. These roles are designed to provide mentorship from experienced faculty, opportunities to contribute to publishable research, and a chance for growth and skill development. This program enables students to contribute to an ongoing research project while gaining practical experience in the research process. Students can develop an appreciation for research and its role in medicine, apply the scientific method, analyze data, and prepare reports. Under the guidance of the Director of Research and Grant Development and the Coordinator of Anatomy & Research Labs, the selected faculty Principal Investigator (PI) will oversee the individual's work in this role.
