About The Position

This position is available only to enrolled American University students. Most student positions at American University are eligible to use Federal Work Study (FWS) awards, with a few exceptions. FWS funds cannot be applied to janitorial, construction, partisan or sectarian positions. The Research Assistant student position will work closely with a professor to contribute to research activities. The ideal candidate should have a strong academic background, excellent communication skills, and a passion for education and research. They must possess specific experience in the area of high-resolution remote sensing analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the professor on ongoing research projects.
  • Conduct literature reviews and assist in data collection and analysis.
  • Build code and methods for high-resolution phenological analysis of urban trees throughout the United States.
  • Contribute to the preparation of research publications and presentations.
  • Assist in organizing field work, as needed.
  • Open source analysis using R and ArcGIS Pro.
