About The Position

Fairview Health Services offers a paid, ten-week summer nurse internship from June 1 through August 13, 2027, at hospitals and ambulatory settings in the Twin Cities and surrounding Minnesota suburbs. The program is for registered-nurse students enrolled in an accredited baccalaureate or entry-level master’s nursing program who are expected to graduate by August 2027 or September 2028. Interns receive one-on-one mentorship from registered nurses and gain hands-on nursing experience in an acute-care environment, building technical, critical-thinking, and interpersonal skills. Interns are hired into a specific patient-care area for the summer. Fairview makes efforts to match placements to interns’ career goals, and applicants can rank preferences during the application process. Possible areas include medical-surgical, cardiac telemetry, oncology, neurology, orthopedics, spine, acute rehabilitation, behavioral health, transplant, stepdown units, and float pool. Intensive care, operating room, emergency department, and birth center labor/delivery and postpartum units have very limited intern openings. Locations may include Fairview hospitals, clinics, and other care settings in Minnesota. The application deadline is December 7, 2026. Applicants must submit an unofficial transcript, which may be combined with a resume as one uploaded document. Candidates whose skills and experience appear aligned may be invited to a phone or Microsoft Teams interview. Candidates selected for the next recruitment stage will be notified by December 21, 2026.
