About The Position

Ares is currently searching for self-motivated, detail-oriented, astute individuals to join our summer internship program. We seek individuals with intellectual curiosity, a growth mindset, critical thinking skills, initiative, and financial acumen. The program is designed to offer exposure to various departments within Ares Wealth Management Solutions (AWMS), including sales & distribution, product management, marketing & research, private wealth partnerships, 1031 exchange, and global strategy. Interns will have the chance to work with multiple teams through in-depth rotations, gaining hands-on experience with the daily operations and activities of each group. Requirements

  • Anticipated graduation date between December 2027 and August 2028
  • Currently enrolled as an undergraduate student, ideally majoring in field related to Finance, Business Administration, or Economics
  • Have a track record of academic excellence and participation in campus activities
  • Superior oral and written communication skills
  • Novice to intermediate Microsoft Excel skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail and proven ability to multi-task
  • Initiative and a strong entrepreneurial mindset
  • The ability to research solutions and be a problem solver
  • Looking to complete a 10-week summer internship

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of finance and accounting is a plus but not required. We are primarily looking for general aptitude and willingness to learn

Responsibilities

  • Understanding and executing the due diligence process
  • Collaborating with other members of the deal teams
  • Designing, building and updating integrated financial models using Excel and other tools
  • Developing and providing investment recommendations and preparing investment committee memos
  • Understanding industry research, trends and drivers
  • Conducting market research for investment opportunities in the pipeline
  • Interfacing with portfolio companies, management teams, third party diligence providers, and other external partners
  • Fund-level management and reporting
  • Supporting deal teams with structuring, underwriting and closing equity and debt investments across diverse industries
  • Business group specific tasks
  • Managing Salesforce data
  • Preparing customized materials for fundraising roadshows and meetings
  • Tracking investor activity and preferences
  • Conducting market and competitor research to identify key prospects
  • Assisting with performance reporting through weekly summaries and campaign trackers
  • Organizing team workflows by ensuring timely completion of deliverables and maintaining records of client interactions and meetings
  • Preparing regional meeting materials, distributing notes, and contributing to ad hoc projects across the team
  • Providing project management support
  • Collaborating with Relationship and Product Management teams to streamline processes across departments like Finance, Legal, Compliance, and Investments
  • Conducting fund-level analyses to generate actionable insights
  • Contributing to key projects by drafting presentations and supporting leadership requests
  • Assisting with investor communications
  • Preparing presentations
  • Conducting market and competitor analysis to inform strategic decisions
  • Contributing to fundraising efforts
  • Supporting new business development initiatives
  • Managing transactional data for third-party providers
  • Collaborating closely with internal teams, including portfolio management, legal, compliance, and marketing—to ensure seamless information flow and strong cross-functional relationships
  • Streamlining data processes and maintaining consistency across all investor-facing materials
  • Evaluating pipeline investments
  • Conducting portfolio analysis and reporting
  • Performing ad hoc research for limited partners
  • Engaging in special analytics projects and quarterly valuations
  • Applying proprietary software tools to monitor portfolio company performance
  • Completing a capstone project, developed in collaboration with their manager and presented to the broader investment team
  • Interacting with key functions across the firm—including deal origination, corporate debt underwriting, investor relations, accounting, finance, performance, and restructuring, building a comprehensive view of Ares’ investment operations
