About The Position

Ryan Lawn & Tree is seeking ambitious students for a hands-on summer internship where they can work outside and build valuable, real-world skills. Requirements

Must be a self-starter who is passionate about learning and growing in a fast-paced environment.
Students studying Horticulture, Forestry, Landscape Management, Agriculture, or Business are preferred, but all majors are welcome.
Ability to be outdoors and active.
Ability to lift up to 50lbs, walk, stand, and push/pull equipment for extended periods, including up to 3 miles per day in the field.
A valid driver's license is required with a clean MVR.
Ability to pass a drug screening (including marijuana) and criminal background check.

Responsibilities

Rotate through multiple departments under Horticulture Services and Landscape & Arbor Services divisions.
Learn about Plant Health Care (PHC), including fertilization, weed and insect control, and disease management.
Support turf services, including fertilization and weed control programs.
Service and repair irrigation systems.
Assist with home pest control services and learn integrated pest management techniques.
Work with expert arborists on tree work, trimming, removal, and stump grinding.
Assist with enhancements like annual mulch, flower rotations, and softscape/tree planting.
Help create outdoor living spaces through hardscape and irrigation installs.
Support detail crews and landscape maintenance teams with weekly/biweekly upkeep.
Engage directly with clients across all departments, providing excellent customer service and gaining real-world communication experience.
