About The Position

The Steiner Summer Internship program is designed for undergraduate students interested in starting a career in the electrical distribution industry. Through hands-on experience, structured training, and mentorship, interns build sales and technical expertise to support contractor and industrial customers and develop a foundation for long-term career growth.

This is a 90-day, three-month program running from June through August for rising juniors and seniors. Participants rotate through business areas and may follow one of three tracks: Contractor Sales, Industrial Sales, or Technical Product Specialist. The program provides experience across sales, operations, and product specialties, exposure to contractor and industrial markets, mentorship from industry professionals, and real customer interaction and quoting experience. After completion, interns may apply to Steiner’s College Development Program.

Requirements

• Be a junior or senior in an undergraduate program.
• Have a strong interest in sales, business development, or technical products.
• Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Be self-motivated and willing to learn.

Responsibilities

• Support sales and operations teams in day-to-day activities.
• Learn product applications and technical solutions.
• Assist with customer quotes, orders, and project coordination.
• Build relationships with contractor and industrial customers.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address customer needs.
