About The Position

SOM’s Summer Internship Program offers students pursuing careers in interior design and related disciplines the opportunity to learn from experts, build design and visualization skills, and contribute to design projects. Summer Interns participate in in-person and virtual learning opportunities and events. The program runs from June 7, 2027, through August 13, 2027. Applicants must be returning to school in Fall 2027 and must submit work samples to be reviewed. The application deadline is January 18, 2027. Compensation typically ranges from $25 to $27 per hour, based on experience, qualifications, location, and education.

Requirements

• Be a current student in an accredited bachelor’s or master’s degree program in interiors, architecture, or a related field of study.
• Return to school in Fall 2027.
• Have some experience in the interior design profession or associated arts.
• Demonstrate strong design capabilities through a portfolio or work samples; applicants without work samples will not be reviewed.
• Demonstrate basic abilities in space planning, 2D/3D drawings, and rendering.
• Be proficient in Revit, Rhino, and Adobe Suite.
• Be able to work as part of a team and communicate effectively.
