Summer Intern - Interior Design
About The Position
SOM’s Summer Internship Program offers students pursuing careers in interior design and related fields the opportunity to learn from experts across design disciplines, build design and visualization skills, and contribute to design projects. Summer interns participate in a range of in-person and virtual learning opportunities and events. The program runs from June 7, 2027, through August 13, 2027. Applicants must be returning to school in Fall 2027, and work samples are required for review. The application deadline is January 18, 2027. Compensation typically ranges from $25 to $27 per hour, based on experience, qualifications, location, and education.
Requirements
- Be a current student in an accredited bachelor’s or master’s degree program in interiors, architecture, or a related field of study.
- Return to school in Fall 2027.
- Have some experience in the interior design profession or associated arts.
- Demonstrate strong design capabilities through a portfolio or work samples; work samples must be submitted for consideration.
- Demonstrate basic abilities in space planning, 2D/3D drawings, and rendering.
- Be proficient in Revit, Rhino, and Adobe Suite.
- Be able to work as part of a team and communicate effectively.
